RightMove has released their latest ‘House Price Index’ statistics (the largest monthly sample of residential property prices and housing market activity) on Monday 12th February, 2024 and guess what………………………
Yes, it is Scotland that takes the top spot AGAIN, when it comes to average property price increases.
It really looks like the market is taking momentum, with mortgage rates that have fallen considerably, it looks like 2024 is a good year to take on a property investment project.
We as investors/buyers have more properties available for sale (new property listings have increased 13.6% annually) and the market is moving at a faster pace than it was at this time last year. That sense of increased optimism gives us all more confidence and reassurance to go ahead with our investment goals.
Let’s take a look at the Scottish map first;
A little mention to the latest statistics on Dunfermline, show that it is proving to be a popular location to invest in, particularly if you are searching for a 3 bedroom home (which have witnessed an 8.3% annual increase in sales volume). Leith is also listed at the top end of the table as a popular location (16.2% in sales volume) right now.
Between the period of November to February, there has been an overall 13.6% increase in new properties coming to the market, compared to the same time this last year. If we look at Corstorphine, it had a whooping 24.4% increase in houses for sale compared to the previous year.
