House Prices
Average: The average house price in Glasgow is £185,000.
Average House price increase: 6.8% (from November 2023)
This average rise of 6.8% is higher than the national average in Scotland of 4.7%, demonstrating why Glasgow is indeed a great place to invest when it comes to property.
Monthly Rental Income
Average Rental Cost: Private rental prices were confirmed at an average cost of £1,199 (December 2024)
Average Rental Cost Increase: Average rental costs increased by 6.9% over the year.
First Time Buyers Average Price: The average price paid by first time buyers was £167,000.
Across Scotland, the average monthly rental was up to £991 (from £927 one year earlier).

Average Price Increase FTB: This was 6.7% higher than the average price paid during 2023m which was £156,000.
Homes Purchased with a Mortgage
Average House Price: The average price for a property purchased with a mortgage was £195,000 (November, 2024) Average House Price Increase: This increased by 7% higher than the average price paid during November 2023, which was £183,000.
For the statistics up to November 2024, the average price for ‘detached’ properties in Glasgow increased by 9.9% – yes, you read that right! With the average price for flats increasing by 6%.
Average prices:
Detached: £477,000
Semi-detached: £269,000
Terraced: £230,000
Flats: £157,000
If you are looking to invest during 2025, it would seem that statistics would suggest that Glasgow would be a great place to start.

Under the sea – Robert Chambers wrote a book that provides outstanding proof, that the whole valley between the Campsie Hills to the hills at Cathkin and Glennifer was previously an estuary where the old River Clyde flowed into. One of the pieces of proof was the finding of whale bones in 1855, 40 feet long, that were found in Erskine.
